Boys: Sentinel vs. Salmon Arm

Sentinel and Salmon Arm went head-to-head in a tumultuous first round match-up. Sentinel stormed to a 22-14 first quarter lead but the two teams drew even in the second quarter, and it was 36-28 for Sentinel at the half. After Sentinel pulled away in the third quarter with Davis’ and McKnian’s sharp shooting, Salmon Arm’s scrappy play sparked a fierce comeback, narrowing the Spartans' lead to four in the 4th quarter. Their full court press kept Sentinel on their toes.

After a couple of clutch free throws, Sentinel pulled off the win, 75-68. Dawson Mayes led the way for the Gold with 20, while Sentinel was paced by McKnian’s 20 and Davis’ 17. Spartan’s head coach Ransford Brempong praised the tenacity of Salmon Arm, “They are a hard working team, and it was a good test for us.”
